I don't know that anyone was expecting the "coattail effect" to kick in this week; I sure wasn't. I think some time has to pass before someone who can't be helped by Viagra turns to Muse. I think the numbers for week ending 5/1/98 probably will be worse than this week, certainly for new scripts, but the % decline will be less than it was this week. As to the plant in Ireland, I assume that is ultimately intended to serve the European market. I expect Viagra will be marketed in Europe, but by then we (and Vivus) will be able to anticipate relative market shares based on U.S. sales in a more mature ED market.
