Man, I go on a little road trip, and when I get back the thread is dead! However, I do understand.

The new Cybermax Cyrix PR300 based system has been reviewed as being about as fast as a Pentium II 233 when the weak FPU is factored in:

In a couple of months, the WinChip will be faster than the M2. I guess National has decided not to fight over table scraps in the low end stand alone CPU market. Let's hope they take system-on-a-chip a little more seriously.

Also, given Anand's review of the Celeron and Intel's updated roadmap, the Celeron will make a great low cost gaming machine; especially when they integrate the i740 on a low cost MB.

BTW: What ever happened to the 233 Mhz MediaGXm chips that we should have seen by now? Oh well.
