John:

Not sure why you're interested in any of this, since you have no stake in VVUS. Are you a PFE SH?

It is absurd to say that no disappointed Viagra patients will go to MUSE. Muse first came to market in 1/97; to my knowledge never advertised at all until this year. Viagra has been a spectre haunting Muse. Many impotent men who heard of Muse in the latter part of 1997 and this year (probably from the SuperBowl incident) undoubtedly held off on doing anything about their problem until first trying Viagra. I think we all agree that it's easier to swallow a pill than take a penile suppository.

I do agree that someone not helped by Viagra is not going to start on MUSE the very next day. It takes time to deal with disappointment. What VVUS has to do is market to the medical community so the MUSE alternative is presented to that disappointed person.

I also wouldn't underestimate the wives of these men. Once their husbands have acknowledged that something must be done about the problem, their wives won't let them give up without trying "Plan B".

I don't have a "drop dead" date for VVUS' scripts to turn around. I expect a turnaround by the end of this month.

What do you make out of the fact that the rates of decline in Muse scripts have slowed?
