>>> Has anyone seen a serious discussion in the popular automotive press, "Motor Trend","Automobile" etc., re FC vehicles? Perhaps they are overlooking the story of the century. Maybe they are too gun shy to be first. They did proclaim the Corvair as car of the year once.

How about an early road test or a head-on comparison, with the Toyota vehicle (if it is a reality). <<<

[Automotive Press]

Dave -

Last year, Automobile magazine discussed FC cars. I posted something about it here at the time, but forget the exact date.

Also, Car & Driver magazine had a feature article on FC technology last year, I think perhaps their January, '97 issue.

Hope this helps.

Steve

All I look forward to paying 32 cents per gallon for Methanol!
It sure beats today prices for gasoline (i'm sure even in tommorow's dollars)!

>>>According to industry consultants, Chemical Market Associates Inc. (CMAI), US Gulf net transaction pricing for
barges was $108 per tonne (or 32.4 cents per gallon) during the month of July 1998. As of August 28, 1998,
CMAI lists US Gulf Coast spot pricing for barges at $105 per tonne (or 31.5 cents per gallon).

In Europe, the third quarter 1998 contract list price FOB Rotterdam was established at 205 DM per tonne. This
represented a price of approximately $115 per tonne (or 34.5 cents per gallon) at the time quarterly pricing was
established.

As of August 28, 1998, CMAI quoted spot pricing in the Asia/Pacific region at between $92 and $105 per tonne
(or 27.6 cents and 31.5 cents per gallon) depending on location.

Methanex's average realized price for 1997 was $187 per tonne compared with $149 per tonne (45.0 cents per
gallon) in 1996.<<<
