Hi Rudy,

I meant to comment on your remark about MMs yesterday.

NTBKs action the past couple days feels eerily familiar to me. About 10 days ago a 2nd or 3rd tier internet co., ITVU, had moved from 9 to about 18 in a short time. Suddenly it started slipping, lost 1-2 points a days for about a week. Then it took off like a rocket and hit 29 within two days. Of course, it quickly backslid to about 21 within a few hours(literally).

The wascally wabbits are probably shaking this tree.

Have you read the Motley Fool article about NTBK from April 9? In it they state "NTBK will always be more nimble than the major banks that have websites because the latter cannot offer 4% interest-bearing checking accounts online without offending their traditional brick & mortar customers who are getting 1-2%. Bonus is the BLACK INK is coming sooner than one would expect. Analysts following NTBK project profitability in the qtr ending in June. Estimates calling for $.30 eps & $l.00eps for l999. Stocks has shown the sizzle--now the steak is coming." (Article is at Motley Fool under The Daily Double Archives for 4/6/98--I would provide link if I knew how;o)

Hang onto the tree.

Take care, Ann
