Marty--re last post, you know I'm just kidding with you. As with Wahoograd, I enjoyed your "Wave with Wings" post over the weekend, and your ability to influence markets while off swimming a half-mile. Nice mixed metaphor, BTW.

The key point you touched on, however, is that WAVX's bargaining strength increases with each successive deal. Do the first one, WAVX, and the others will have to deal with you on your own terms.

As I understand it, Ingram Micro is one of two with whom Wave has been in active 'front burner' discussions and both could move ahead of IBM. The other OEM is apparently more interested at this point in the security capabilities of Wave's technology. BTW, IBM would become indirectly involved with Wave through Ingram Micro and would perhaps expedite its own timetable with Wave.

When I've tried to obtain status reports on the other OEMs that would have a natural interest in Wave's content distribution strategy for the consumer PC, my sources of information are either not 'in the loop' or understandably reluctant to disclose anything close to consummation. The other OEMs to which I'm referring would be Gateway and Packard Bell, and I know that Wave has been talking with them for years, particularly Gateway.
