BREAKING NEWS: Justice To Block PrimeStar Deal

SkyREPORT.COM has learned the Justice Department is expected to announce this afternoon that it will sue to block the $1.1 billion sale of satellite assets from Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. and MCI Communications to PrimeStar Inc.

Reportedly, the Justice Department concluded the deal would violate
antitrust laws. Regulators fear sale of the 110 degree orbital slot will hinder competition between satellite and cable TV systems, and stifle program access for DTH companies.

PrimeStar's ownership includes cable operators. It is owned by TCI
Satellite Entertainment, a publicly traded spin-off of cable giant
Tele-Communications Inc., Time-Warner, MediaOne Group, Comcast and Cox
Communications.

Tough luck, Goodboy...
