I wouldnt get too excited about a short squeeze, if it does occur, the market makers will be quick to take advantage of it, especially the underwriters. I believe AMTD will be quick to make a secondary issue of stock when the demand is timed right. The reasons are quite evident. l. They could use the capital to fund their ads and other expansion plans. 2. The stock will not really become a bigtime plaything until the funds can get a meaningful position. ( There is only a 3.6 million share float, hardly enough to accomodate major fund purchases. Etrade did not make its real move into the forties until they increased their shares. 3. They also need to move more of the stock from the founders into public hands . All these steps will probably happen this year and will create a world class public online trading company and stabilization will occurr ......Gil P.S. I believe there has already been stock presold short by the people who will do underwriting, but cannot check it.
