Friends of mine use ETrade for BB's and are very happy with the execution time and with the customer service. Schwab is also a great service, though more expensive than ETrade. $29.95 for first 1000, then 3 cents per share. Yea they had a few major glitches, but so do the other On-Line services.

For those of you unhappy with your on-line broker, you might give some consideration to Farsight.com....$l9.95 for any trade up to 5,000 shr, free real-time quotes, no extra for phone contact, or for limit orders.....and, every single trade I've done with them has been at the bid, not the ask. Never a mistake, fast fills.

Jack White & Co charges $5 for as many shares as you want to buy or sell over their Interconnect matching service. Furthermore, if they are able to handle the match, they split the bid/ask between the buyer and seller. This currently is available for San Diego based stocks only, and is available only for one crossing time per day (1 PM EDT), but if this is successful, they will increase the number of crossings per day. If they are not successful at handling the match, you have the option of requesting that they put it out to the market makers as a "market order" ... and you still pay only $5 for the trade. 1-800-233-3411
