And the only place this DIS stuff surfaces is right here on this board.

Gotcha on this one. To quote the article from ZDNet (5/4/98): "Potential partners include: Infoseek, a company that could provide Disney with much-coveted searching technology".

There's alot to this article and it by no means points to SEEK as the only takeover candidate. However, I thought clarification of your statement needed to be made. SI is not the only place this rumor is being talked about.

Here's the link to the whole article:

>>>The attitude of this board really surprises me. It can only mean we will go lower than even I thought possible.<<<

Why are you surprised? Rationalization -- in this case deluding oneself into believing that bad news is really good news for SEEK--is typical of human nature. It will be interesting to see how far SEEK tanks tomorrow. If it turns out to be "not much," that will show us all just how strong the market's current delirium over the internet sector really is. And that will be very useful information indeed.

As for your own repeated predictions today that SEEK will absolutely, positively, without a doubt take a huge hit, some might argue that YOU are the contrarian indicator <g>.

We all know that your short this stock, good for you. But your ignorant statements roll me. It should be obvious to everyone that the search engines are and will be in huge demand. Why the hell should SEEK pay somebody for their services when there are many companies willing to pay them for THEIR services. I think theres big value in SEEK and I'm sure I'm not alone(DISNEY). SEEK may drop tomorrow, but as far as I'm concerned it's a buying opportunity. So short all you like but I'm 99.9% sure you'll end up on the short side of the stick, and you know where you can put that stick.

Good luck, LOL
