Dirk and All .... Update on Appian Multicard Well... I Bit the Bullet ... I purchased 2 Appian Pros the other day. It wound up between Appian And STB. I put win98 on the machine for a test run .. Right, it was off within a couple hours :-). Think I'll keep Win95 till I hear just about everyone else is using 98. Just about all of my software is non NT too. So that lets out STB ! Then it was between the J3 Quad or the Pro 2 port. I opted for the 2 port as I do a little Cadd work now and then. Price was about the same (ouch) but got a little off buying 2. Any hooo, it was a quick and painless install. Minor setup. Their software "IS" pretty darn good, very versatile as far as window layout and resolution (Nothing like seeing a 30 min bar chart spread over 2 screens, 60+ days comfortably on 2 - 19"ers @ 1024x768 then time and sales, news and quote pages on a 2nd machine (psyched). I'll be trying a little more experimenting this week end. I'd like to see both cards in one machine and see how a 300 CPU handles the load running both programs. Guess the next step is modems. I have 56's but the lines in my area are for ... Looking for info on the next step up, and waiting to see the software from MB Trading (They promised access tomorrow AM) Two way wireless I think I heard here ? Price ? A killer ? S&P Comstock wanted 750 a month and 1,000 to install. Did someone print snowbird across my forehead ?? Side Question : I have a couple old 15" Idek monitors that I used to use for Cadd work years ago sitting in the closet (Great condition !), The problem is they're the old 9 pin. Can I use a straight 9 to 15 adaptor ???, or a special one available ?, or am I looking at frying a card if I try it. I think I have an old EGA card stashed away somewhere but thought I'd check here first. No this is not for my new Appian babies :) Thanks, joe Naples Fl
