Shane and all,

FWIW, my take of recent news and events is that WDC positions itself superbly going forward, not repeating their mistakes with introducing MR rather late. Chuck Haggerty is an old IBM-er himself, so there may be still some "special" links. Just speculating.

WDC the stock will appreciate in price again when earnings and confidence in the turnaround hits WS. However, never forget, IMO, that data capacity requirements are increasing all the time. WDC will be a prime beneficiary of this continuing trend, being on top of the latest technology.

I'm long, though I concede that the money may well be dead for some time still until EPS comes back. The downside risk in WDC is very limited, IMO. You cannot say this of many stocks these days...
