Yeah, I saw the Ultimate Oscillator dip down. That's one of things that'll sink a simple computer trading model; the whipsawing of the indicator you're using. To the eyeball the indicator can look like it's calling the price swing, but the testing program has no subjective judgement and dutifully records the little losses and transaction fees from the whipsawing. I can get simple moving average systems to work and give 24% per annum gains, but they're not consistent year to year and the bull market uptrend really helps the system, so I've never implemented one with cold hard cash. That is not to say that the Ultimate Oscillator wouldn't generate great returns because testing over a lot of data is the only way to tell. I just need their criteria for generating it.
