Dave, no we're not going back. I think we absorbed all we can at
this time, it would be great fun to go back but I'm so busy right
now. Standing in line to register, I let a young man (early 30's)
in line in front of me and we started talking. Turned out he was
the son of a family that owned Phenix City, Alabama Cable (about
20,000 subscribers). He had just bought advanced modems for Internet access from HYBR (another of our stocks). We told him
about CCUR/IVOD. He didn't seem to know a lot about it but later
we spotted him in the SFA/CCUR crowd. I thought this guy was a
country rube and it turns out they had turned down more than $40
million for their company (while we talked his wife was getting
a $500 haircut). These Cable people are flush with cash right
now and they are willing to spend it to stay ahead (and keep the
monthly checks rolling in). We came away yesterday feeling that
CCUR is in the cat birds seat. I mean SEAC are beginners compared
to the experience CCUR has. I was extremely impressed with Del
Kunert, Director of IVOD at CCUR. He told us many technical things that I am not going to post here, but he is in his 50's
and knows his stuff. Some of the companies we talked to were
nothing but hot air artists, you pin them down and they don't
know what they are talking about. CCUR does.
