AA--- you've got it! I would throw in one more element though ...... the emotional and psychological impact on individuals, AND on groups of individuals.

How cascading glitches are perceiveand responded to will be every bit, if not much more, important than the incidents themselves.

As I have said before: some will be heroes, many will not .......... and the lowest common denominators will see openings for their opportunistic anti-social behaviors. If that societal element perceives that accountability forheir actions is slow in coming, if it comes at all, then the rules can change significantly, quickly.

This still doesn't even address the issue of those indiviuals and/or groups who may feel a compelling mandate to rescue their country from the government.

Considering the possibility of y2k induced glitches being used as a cover for willful acts of disruption by those with their own agendas is not totally paranoid thinking, imho.
