Well, I'm encouraged. Just last week you told me that my MediaOne Group holdings were a "garbage stock". What changed? You read an article in the newspaper? Congratulations. I got into UMG at 17, and I'm only up 100% on THAT "garbage stock". I really need to get a better stock-picker. Those of us with a grip on the industry understand that there is no one single technology that will exterminate all others. My understanding is that the cable industry has their hands full just going after the residential market (their primary focus, in case you missed that). They are already behind where they should be in numbers of subscribers and have a long, long, long way to go. Also, that kind of aggressive service rollout takes resources - witness this weeks Boston Sunday Globe - the full front page of the Help Wanted section was packed with dozens of job openings for MediaOne. Oh, and by the way. I'll bet Jason could tell you what the cable companies have lots and lots and lots of. I'll even help you out, it's four-letter word that starts with "d" and ends with "t". Doesn't that WORRY you?

p.s. Bernard - I've been laughing about Big Al's Ballistic Blimps since I first heard of them. What a hoot! Who knows, though, he may be on to something. Perhaps this is one of the looming technologies that Jason is concerned about. Not sure I'd want Haig at the helm of any company I own shares in, though.
