I just published my first software application that had a UI that required all 4 digits of the year to be entered. You should have heard the complaints by the users! I could have built some assumptions into the application so that only 2 digits would be needed to be entered, but since it is a Year 2000 Program Management application, we needed to *bonk* people over the head that it is Y2K compliant, ergo the 4 years.

But, oh, the complaints!
