>>In addition, Everest provides a clear, risk-free migration path from today's legacy networks to the predominantly IP networks of the future. Everest has this ability because it is fully compatible with existing IP routers and ATM switches and introduces no new protocols to routers or switches within customer networks. Furthermore, Everest implements distributed, policy-based IP/ATM QoS grounded on current IP and ATM standards, with the flexibility of using MPLS, RSVP and other related technologies as they are deployed.<<

Frank,

Wow. OK, what's the downside here? This sounds a bit too good. Recent conversations with Cisco concerning our ITSP "migration path" was a debate about choosing strategically between IP vs. ATM. Cisco would push our network backbone to go IP now, with the bet on evolving QoS or Class of Service. We are planning our network evolution to Multi-service IP, but I'm very uncomfortable committing dollars to ATM right now. Yes, it works today, but what's the curve look like? IP is the strategic future per Cisco. These NetCore guys scooping everyone with this product? Have to do some dd on these guys.

Very compelling stuff, thanks.
