FORE has always been positioned well for LAN ATM, but the market was never really there. Now that it is, FORE is finding more competitors like CSCO and now ASND. ASND/CSCC is positioned best for WAN ATM. NN had a great LAN ATM story a few years ago, but they pretty much abandonded it due to lack of funding. If they can bring it back now they will look better. ATM isn't the only way to feed GB Ethernet. Large scale 100BT switches can handle that just fine.
