if it were so easy to use multiple application engines, why did msft end up dominating? Perhaps the change would be a matter of hours per user But add it up across the enterprise. This is an analogy not an exact replica. But I still think you'll see major challenges for sebl/scop and possible competitive advantages for vntv. (and maybe clfy)

Microsft won because integration was easier for the end user and easier to support from an enterprise perspective, I think it's fairly analogous to the upcoming vntv - sebl battle.

kevin's post is one of the best frameworks for viewing the problem.
