Mudcat, LGND's move on the disappearance of breast cancer is VERY easy to see on a daily chart:

techstocks.com

LGND first jumped on a positive earnings surprise (from about 11 to 13 1/2) on Feb 6, and then jumped again (to 16) on Feb 12 when the breast cancer press release came out (in both cases the press release came out the night before, Feb 5 and Feb 11, after the close).

These gaps higher were based on the news of the day, not the NDA.
I think that the gaps higher are obvious to anyone who would care to look.

<< Are you forgetting that Lgnd already put out their animal tests for breast cancer. >>

I'd forget my bottom end, if it weren't attached! As previously mentioned, the ENMD news was out for a couple of months before the "news hype" hit. In fact, another stock I own, CEGE, almost doubled by reissuing a news release that was about a year old!

Someone call up LGND and have them hype their breast cancer results vs. Tamoxifen!!!

I could just see the members of this thread reacting if LGND would get hyped and runup the way ENMD did! Most, thirsty and hungry for profits, would rush in sell orders as fast as they could.

The ENMD runup gave them a market cap about equal to LGND, since they have much less shares issued, so I wouldn't expect a runup of the same proportions, if it ever did happen.

Buts....... It would sure be nice to see Walter's "$20 by 20,000" come true (a slight tad late).

Regards, Bob
