I read it shaved 1.2% off GDP. I agree with the "New Era" idea. Guess that's why we are investing where we are. But that's also part of the problem facing Greenspan and the rest. There are so many new factors affecting the economy, the old yardsticks aren't valid anymore. The old measurements aren't reflecting the productivity gains we know have to be out there. Greenspan said as much in a speech earlier this year in which he pleaded with the academics to give him new tools to use to make his decisions. Event though he's using antiquated tools, Greenspan is doing a pretty good job.
