the problem is what you do isnt all mechanical....lots of intuitiveness

and watching TT try to daytrade on something that is not purely mechanical would blow my mind...he might turn into OJ...

SPX

didn't take me long to get home to my own computer, eh ?

on my purchase of a few minutes ago ----

1115 has now been identified as a SPX pivot and I'm using 1114.75 as a stop at 12:06 EDT

the purchase was OEWEI @ 3 7/8

the targets still remain ---- 1117 and 1121

the main reason I post this as accurately as I can is so that some of the readers/posters/lurkers can offer advice if and when there is a mistake made and can tell me, so that we all (and me, too ) can learn.

edit
purchase confirmed on phone at 3 7/8 instead of 4 as I had thought

Patrick,

As I read you and TT's exchange my comments are along the lines of Lisa. I am sure that your insincts are to the point that you feel comfy day trading and know how the beast acts to some extent, that is my biggest worry.. that and the fact that to day-trade isnt the min investment near 100k?

As I have watched TT's posts and comments, I would want to incorporate the elements that he has with your day trading.. Maybe it is too complex and error prone, but his points of trade and your day-trading... thats what I want..

And the cap to get going...lol

I used more or less the method you described.

I use 1-tick, 5-min and 3-min charts with 2-MA, Stochastics and Momentum. Additionally I monitor Tick and Trin.

I get into a position based on the 30-min inidcator and get out when the 5-min indicator goes against my position irrespective of whether I maek a profit or loss.

Has worked great so far. And I have been punished very badly evertime I violate this rule and go with my 'feelings' or 'news'.
