I would have guessed two PCMCIA card slots.
(The MessagePad had two). Twin 3.5" drives
takes us back to the days before hard drives
became standard. And yeah, it doesn't have a
pen receptacle, so there does seem to be two
variations.


I suspect that what we're seeing as 2 buttons along the top might be a pen. On the bottom image that dark rectangle at left looks a lot like an IR window, but it doesn't make sense to place it along the top edge of the product unless it's a detachable keyboard -- which is impossible given the placement of the DVD(?) drive. Whatever it is, that whole section looks like it's designed to be removed.

The whole look and feel screams Apple Design Center prototype, but I haven't a clue what we're really looking at.
