HYALF going back

HYALF looking to merge or be bought out from the april 17 release Consistent with the
short term action plan announced on January 20, 1998, Hyal continues to work
closely with investment bankers, Dresdner Kleinwort Benson, to evaluate all options to
enhance
shareholder value, which may include Hyal's merger or sale. As well Hyal continues its
efforts to
license those product candidates closest to market or most likely to be licensed over the
next 12
months. Hyal believes that the agreement reached with the debenture holders will assist
in the
evaluation of these options.

Hyal is engaged in research and product development utilizing its two unique platforms
for drug
delivery, HIT(TM) (Hyaluronan Induced Targeting) technology and HILT(TM)
(Hyaluronan
Improved Liposome Technology). The Corporation's business strategy is to
commercialize its
developments by outlicensing to other pharmaceutical companies.
