Well the little guy doesn't seem too concerned but I can't remember when in the last few years when we've been at a new top, that Rubin, Buffet, and the Pres. needed to paraphrase Abbey's "relax". After all, we can't have that surplus without encouraging some captial-gains-triggering profit taking. Rubin calls for calm in the middle of the first rationally sized corrective down day in months while S&P futures get a big buyer. Like Jim has mentioned, I also think the something that caused the foreign market selloff that led to our big selloff last monday, isn't yet put on the public table. They're so scared of what should happen, they stop the first recent selloff in the middle of its first day! To me, that says someone's extremely frightened.
