Oh, forgot to mention one other reason Cs is good.

Plants just love to suck it out of the ground, look at the Periodic Table and you'll see why.

The dominant pathway for long-term exposures from Cs-137 is really food ingestion for the backyard farmer, not gamma from groundshine. Current EPA/NRC procedures for evaluating habitability of land require calculating this food ingestion dose, which would be the critical pathway.

Pu and HLW give nada food doses.

Sr is liked by plants even better than Cs, but I don't know of any industrial uses of Sr-90.
