Hawkeye: I did see the part about the $180,000 savings projections, but I would like to read the whole report before I believe it. Hydrogen costs 4 times as much as conventional fuels. FC buses, while certainly superior from an environmental viewpoint and very efficient, are not 4 times more efficient than conventional buses, so I don't see how there can be any savings. Perhaps the Union of Concerned Scientists is buying smw3's theory that huge advances in photovoltaics will some day bring the cost of hydrogen from water way down. At today's prices, the only buyers who can afford to use hydrogen for transportation is NASA.
