OK, here's something that may interest you all CPX Earnings due Thurs May 7th.. soon to merge with SONY and LOEWS theaters.. to become one of the world's largest chain of theaters.... merger approved, antitrust litigation resolved... trades on NYSE I've been biding my time with this one, the merger is promised for 2nd quarter 98... Bear Sterns recently upgraded their rating from neutral to attractive, and the price jumped from 1 7/8 (it's high for the last month or so) and opened at 2. It had since ticked back down a bit, but volume has been heavy lately it may be starting to rumble a bit... not exactly running away, but stretching it's legs?? I have been in and out of this stock on its way from 1 1/8 to 2 (it does this every year...) and I am thinking with Titanic... the merger, and a proposed reverse 10-1 split rumored for the near future (getting institutional attention) it's time to stick for a while... almost NO downside... and who knows how much upside? See cineplex odeon CPX thread... (not a canadian company) Yahoo profile: biz.yahoo.com not sure of merger date (2nd quarter..) but earnings are due Thurs.. still lots of time to get in .. Expected positive earnings may not send this through the roof, as price is suspected of being "held" in place till merger.. someone tell me the downside here... cheers MG
