CS - Please read the Forbes article re: options - it's in the 5/18 issue - a real eye-opener for those who don't realize how dilutive and pervasive they are.
It looks like Amazon has given away a lot of their future "earnings" already in the form of options. However , it's quite obvious at this point that the longs on this stock don't even know what they're buying , IMHO. Anyway , the article shows how many big-name companies would have NEGATIVE eps if the accounting for options was done to show them as an expense (as many think it should be). That's right , negative. Losses , not profits ! And so the "great bull market" is paying record multiples for what amounts to phantom earnings!
All parties should read the article and be aware of the massive accounting chicanery that is tolerated by FASB. Take it from me , I'm a CPA , and I think it's a joke. Good luck everybody.
