Thanks Craig. I wonder how long it will be before suppliers to the pure BTO model demand a commitment from the buyer? Taking a free ride on another's inventory won't last forever and that is the dependency Dell has.

I have seen elsewhere that price protection will be dramatically cut, some reports say down to as little as 2 weeks, maybe slightly longer during product transitions (otherwise channel just stops ordering before a transition and waits to determine the new price points). That info should also be public shortly.
