Hans,
Do you have something called average directional indicator? If so ,
that is it. A good place to see the formula on it is in Elder's
Trading for a Living. pg 136. It's figured off the Directional
Indicator DX. You calculate the ADX by smoothing DX with a moving
average, such as a 13 day EMA. Good luck.

HANS!

ADX = Directional movement in MSWIN6.5 from the indicator list! Don't confuse with ADRX which is also there. Click on it and the header of the window will show you what you choose...

Hans, I just have the poorboy system, Windows on Wall Street Professional version...One day maybe I'll be a Trade Station or Metastock person..If you can get the book, "Trading For A Living" by Dr. Alexander Elder, it has the formula there...Plus it is a good book to read...I am a real rookie at putting these formulas into software programs..I have a couple of friends who make them for me, when I give them the guidelines of what I would like to see...Try to locate another Metastock user, and maybe they can give you the homemade formula that they have put in....Regards, Mark
