OT unless it's a Roth. On topic: the contrary indicator of all those magazine covers bothered me at first.

But I was reading Bernie Schaeffer's book last night (who makes a great case for contrarian indicators) and realized that these magazine covers are not the typical phenomena you'd get with a bear turn.

In other words, we're not at the end of an extraordinarily optimistic cycle that is now exhausting itself. That is the rationale he has on using magazine covers as bear (if promoting) or bull (if grieving) indicators.
