I'm glad that I am not in Indonesia. Suharto should have escaped while he had the chance. I think he might end up overthrown, or worse.

South Korea continues to suffer, as well.

My guess is that the "meltdown" is highly overrated.....It could be that penetration into this long dreaded number may mark the end of a Nikkei decline from nearly 40,000....and 8 years....

I have heard that bad things are supposed to start happening to Japanese banks and their borrowers at that threshold, too. However, the Nikkei has already traded below that level, 450+/- points lower and not just intraday, within the last six months if I am not mistaken and the Japanese economy still stumbles along. Is there something different this time?
