nlam,
I'm also waiting for WIN98, it has support for some key hardware technologies, among them DVD, USB, (universal serial bus, allows you to daisy chain monitor/scanner/mouse etc). Also, multiple monitors will be supported (great if you want to peruse SI on one monitor while monitoring real time quotes on the other). There are also some improvements in application loading speed along with improved disk management utilities. These are just a few, I'm sure Ken can update you with more.

John

n,

One of the main things that I am interested in is the 'large capacity' drive support through the use of the FAT32 system. Drives up to 8G will have cluster sizes of 512, and those over 8G move up to 4K, I think. Since I do video processing, it is helpful to get the largest single volume. Under W95, you know that we are limited to 2G per volume.

I would have to go back into the kit that I bought ($16 from Costco) on W98 to see what else was offered. The kit came with a CD that took you through using W98, kind of a Computer Based Training course which explained tasks and then asked appropriate questions. Not all of the sections were covered since it was not in its final form.

Regards,

Ken
