Steve/All,

Might you (or anyone on the thread) have a chance to call IR and get some scoop on the outlook for the next 90-180 days? The gentleman who called me on 4/14 in response to my e-mail indicated that Motorola and MCI/Worldcom orders had dried up for obvious reasons, but that DSC expected a resumption, at least in the MCI business, within the coming months. He attributed the drop in share price, into the $17-18 range, to DSC's dependance on these two large customers.

At that time, absent a resumption in orders from one or both companies, DSC appeared to have no plan worth mentioning for diversification away from MOT and MCI. A bleak picture.

A month now having passed, I wonder whether current management has the wherewithall to devise a salvage operation or whether they're so engaged in resume polishing (see Planospy's message, #4164, of 5/13) that the interests of shareholders and a return to profitability have dropped off the radar screen in Plano....

The IR rep. who called me was Michael Hossey (sp?). I'm having a week from hell at work, but could possibly manage a call next week if need be.
