A constant dripping on a day of steady rain And a contentious woman are alike Proverbs 27:15 A. A constant dripping Imagine yourself sitting in a chair and all you hear is "drip, drip, drip, drip, drip---minute after minute---finally one hour passes---another---and another---no end in sight---drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip--- + The dripping is constant, consuming, and colossal + The dripping is creating a wearing and erosion as it strikes the ground. Drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip---
B. A contentious woman + Imagine yourself sitting in a chair, surfing tv channels, watching the Utah Jazz, LA Lakers, now it's baseball, Atlanta Braves, San Diego Padres, now it is Hockey, Colorado Avalanche, etc. Then she sez: "All you ever do is watch sports, you didn't take the garbage out today, the washing machine is still shutting off in the middle of a cycle, the dryer walks all over the floor, the fan still doesn't work on the furnace, the lawn is getting too tall for the lawnmower, you have your socks all over the floor, every door knob in the bedroom has either your pants, shirt, or shorts hanging on it, you never help with the dishes, you never give me enough grocery money, LISTEN TO ME!!" And the husband keeps on surfing the channels as he drinks his 8th can of beer. The constant "dripping" has created a wearing and erosion as it strikes his spirit." + She is a contentious woman. She has dripped on her husband like this day in, day out, week in, week out, month in, month out, year in, year out. + HOWEVER, the husband is not without sin either. It is obvious he is neglecting and behaving badly. Question: How do we resurrect a contentious woman? Question: How do we resurrect a neglectful, careless, drinking, non-caring husband?
