Ah! If the takeover rumor doesn't come from anyone in the biz or from a broker, then our most impeccable sources are not involved in it and it's possible it is coming from a short position, keeping the price down either for accumulation or for covering. I wonder how we can find out if the rumor has any foundation? Most of us will not fare badly if we were to sell at .75, but we did hope to do rather a lot better than that. It's not the sort of rumor that should cause panic selling but it can reduce panic buying, at 3/4 anyway. Am I approaching anything that sounds reasonable in what I'm thinking? What do you think?
