Dell, Cisco, U S West to Announce Plan
For Computers With Digital Modems

Staff Reporter of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL

Dell Computer Corp., Cisco Systems Inc. and U S West Communications
Group Inc. are expected Wednesday to announce plans to roll out
personal computers with high-speed digital modems that work over
traditional copper telephone wires.

The companies said the package would be available to consumers in
certain U S West markets this fall, around the same time an international
telecommunications group is set to vote on standards for high-speed
access to the Internet....


The goal is for consumers to be able to plug their computers into a phone
jack and surf the Internet with ease.

Dell, based in Round Rock, Texas, said it will make Cisco's ADSL
modems available in its Dimension XPS personal computers. Dell said its
XPS computers start at $2,149. Cisco is a networking-gear company in
San Jose, Calif.....

Whew!, Dell surely is amazing. Still Cisco is a great company to put the rest of your money in. 54% average annualized return is nothing to sneeze at either.
