Stericycle Announces 7 Fold Increase in Earnings Per Share on a 34% Increase in Revenues for the First Quarter of 1998 DEERFIELD, Ill., May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Stericycle, Inc. (Nasdaq: SRCL - news), the second largest provider of regulated medical waste management services in the U.S., announced today substantial increases in first quarter results for 1998. According to management, the record quarterly results were driven by the company's strategic acquisitions as well as by internal growth from the increased investment in sales and marketing. ''Our 1998 first quarter revenues of $13.3 million increased 34% over first quarter 1997 revenues,'' commented Mark Miller, president and CEO. ''Gross profits continued to improve with an increase of more than 100% over the first quarter of last year.'' Gross profits as a percentage of revenue increased from 20% in the first quarter of 1997 to 30% in the first quarter of 1998. (NASDAQ/NMS:OMQP), the largest North American manufacturer of telescopic material handlers, today announced record sales and earnings for the second fiscal quarter ended March 31, 1998. Net sales for the second quarter of fiscal 1998 were $119.4 million, an 88% increase from sales of $63.5 million for the same quarter in the prior year.
