I don't think this deal is as simple as just buying Final Cut.

I wouldn't be surprised. Though video editing would fit nicely into the QT picture, I keep thinking about Steve talking about the streaming capabilities of QT 3 at Seybold. Right now, it appears that RealAudio/Video is the major presence, and it works pretty well (beats the crap out of MicroSoft's NetShow (or whatever it's called)). I would be so excited if Apple could leap-frog RealNetworks. With QT 3 being the backbone of MPEG 4 and the Rosetta Stone for all media, it could be HUGE. Macromedia has Shockwave. Think there's a connection?
