Louis, competition. Management. Which team will win.

Competition.
Quality of management.

Doing top-down analysis and dividing up the market share is great.
In some industries that will work.

In this one, everything so speculative, that I would argue the PRIMARY question is the ability of the management team to execute over the long haul in a new medium.

That's not something you can put on a spreadsheet.

Good "trading",

Tom

"...our aggressive expansion into direct marketing via the Internet."

" ... By year's end, GRTV projects it will broadcast programming to 45
million homes. Regarding the announcement, Weiner stated, "This agreement allows K-tel to marry its rich history in marketing music products directly to the consumer through television with our aggressive expansion into direct marketing via the Internet. GRTV Network's reach is extraordinary, providing us with the valuable opportunity to strengthen our traditional marketing activities, as well as continue building our new endeavors." (K-Tel President David Weiner from May 6 Press Release.)

I like those words. A lot.

KTEL currently has (let's say) zero Internet revenues, the K-tel Express venture should contribute nothing to market cap?

Quite possibly nothing. But it's already contributed 800%.

They've got to prove they're going to generate more income than it costs them to set up.

If you take your argument to its logical conclusion, everyone could just announce an internet venture and see their market cap go up. Duh....

Neil.
