Stupid???

The one thing you forgot to evaluate is company size. NT dominates in the small scale server market formerly owned by Novell.

In this area of the market companies have used Novell for file and print in the past and to run their database driven apps. As those apps have been rewritten they have migrated to NT platforms and people have dropped Novell from the picture.

I don't call this stupid, unless you would use the term to refer to the hole in the bottom of Novell's product line.
