Observations from an existing customer... 1. For the most part customer service is honest and helpful. 2. The new system still has bugs, i.e. it cannot display your cost basis, therefore you need to keep track separately(I'm told they're working on it. 3. I would suggest an ISDN or cable modem connection as my 28.8 at work is poor, but my home ISDN almost never disconnects. 4. Execution speed varies with the exchange with Island orders being the fastest, ADPSIS is often slow coming back with order cancels when trading options. 5. Fast markets, regardless of what kind of system you are on will always be problematic and trying to scalp in fast markets is next to impossible. 6. If you are an option trader, you maybe dissappointed as ABW does NOT permit spreads or naked sells. 7. Accounting at times leaves much to be desired but for the most part I find it acceptable. I keep track of all executions on a daily basis, enter them into Quicken, clear them when the confirm arrives and double check at end of month against my statement. Commissions are sometimes in error but only by a $1 or $2. 8. I tried DLJ,Discover,Schwab,Web St. to name a few before going with ABW about 7+ months ago. Overall I am pleased. I have not investigated the other firms offering services similar to ABW (CyberTrader) but with the exception of executing option strategies ABW is a good choice for a trader who wants good speed, automated quotes and full service on line trading. 9. Nobody has a perfect system, at least I haven't heard of one. Have above average expectations and I suspect you will not be sorry. Expect perfection and be ready for a let down. 10. I hope ABW reads these posts and learns from their customer's comments.
