All: Some very interesting analysis on the VLNC thread,
advocating, in general, a balanced approach to the two companies.
IMO, ULBI and VLNC will both do very well, regardless of who technically reaches mass production status first. After all, this is the next battery generation, with the enormous demand that entails.

True, Lehman underwrote the ULBI secondary and can be expected to initiate with a buy. But they certainly didn't have to issue those huge FY99 and 2000 earnings gains, clearly indicating their bullishness on the technology.
