I wonder how the possible merger of Chrysler and Mercedes effects other auto stocks? It seems every time one does it, a bunch follow. Look at the recent flurry of mergers in the banking and finance industries for example.

Here is a good article summarizing the possible merger of Chrysler and Daimler Benz. I love how the article stress the "over capacity" in the auto industry and that this will be only the first shot fired.
