You use TA to help establish entry points and avoid overbought stocks, and you learn from patterns. I sure wish I'd known development stage patterns 2 years ago. Big runnups on news way ahead of the fundimentals, followed by long slides and basing are quite normal.

Sure you want to be ahead of the curve. But how much ahead?
Ask ISIP and VICL holders who bought in 2 years ago after the "Next Microsoft" hype from the Money article. Both are worth far more today then they were then, and a lot have people have been sitting on dead money a lng time. I watched a long time, finally buying in in January (I'm ahead on both and expect that to increase materially over the next 8 months). LGND is another where the risk/reward prfile

Maybe I'm strange, but I can't see buying into very probable dead money just to make sure you're ahead of the curve.

Maybe The Rational Analyst thread is frequented by a lot of clueles wonders too. But I kinda doubt it. Scott
