Top:Business and Finance:Stocks:Technology:Computer Peripherals:WAVX (Wave Systems Corp) Message 1058 of 1058 oem before eom pauhana99 May 6 1998 2:38PM EDT At the risk of making a prophetic statement ala the old ironcarbide, I do know from some well placed sources that an oem contract has been signed and will be annouced by the end of this month. Supposedly, (I will not name a company) this agreement will place the wave chip on a motherboard or embeded next to a cpu chip. I know this rumor has been flying around for some time but it seems closer to realty now. Placing it on the motherboard should negate the need for agreements with box makers like dell, gateway etc... since they purchase chipsets from other parties. This source has been pretty reliable for other things and I would be surprised if does not pan out. He also added a estimated price of 7-10 by the eom. I have no idea how these numbers were calculated and I can't believe them. A confirming source of this rumor has over 250,000 shares and purchased 100,000 of that in the last 30 days. I am always skeptical of this kind of fluff but with all that activity lately you have to believe there is some kernel of truth in all these rumors....
