Tippet, I don't anything about FPF and FAX I had to look up the symbols so my opinion is not worth much but if we have a global bear mkt -most places will get hurt. CEF -is an inexpensive way to own precious metals but some people might prefer to have physical possesion of their gold ( no paper trail) unless you are talking a lot of money- which i guess is relative.

Tip, I don't know much about FAX, but I am holding my FPF. My feeling is that it's been down so long, it looks like up to me. Besides, The Phillipines is in much better shape on its debt and current account than most Asian countries.

I never make promises. Whenever I do, I get a palimony suit filed against me. <G> But Chase the bank has already blown up. I just suspect that the stock will follow suit.

Besides banks and techs, I like puts on airlines, hotels, casinos, and brokers. For the airlines, I use the XAL index because they all look the same to me, flying cigar boxes.
