I was using the term "ramp-up" as Ron Abelmann meant it in the conference call, meaning the initial rate at which the new product (i960x chips bundled with IxWorks) goes into production.

There is no reason to be disappointed regarding VxWorks -- VxWorks revenues are increasing at a steady clip! I think you were just confused by the press release, in which WIND cited strong historical VxWorks shipments to underscore the value of the new "Tornado for Digita" integrated development environment.

As far as the pricing goes -- WIND receives a flat royalty amount from the chip manufacturer for each copy of IxWorks that is bundled with an I2O chip. OTOH, VxWorks royalties are negotiated with the chip user, and vary widely depending on the processor, quantitiy used, etc.
